Private landowners are the key to effective habitat management in Texas, since more than 95 percent of Texas is privately-owned or operated. The Lone Star Land Steward Awards program recognizes and honors private landowners for their accomplishments in land, water and wildlife stewardship. The program is designed to educate landowners and the public and to encourage participation in habitat conservation.

On Thursday, May 18, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will recognize landowners for their contributions to natural resource conservation and management. This awards program has grown to be one of the most prestigious landowner awards in Texas. Learn more about the Lone Star Land Steward Awards…
