TPWF and Goode Co. Seafood Partner to Protect the Texas Coast
HOUSTON —Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) and Houston-based Goode Co. Seafood are joining forces to help conserve the Texas Gulf Coast.
To commemorate the company’s 40th anniversary, Goode Co. Seafood is offering a limited-edition Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation fire-branded Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie Box. The handcrafted keepsake wooden box houses Goode Co.’s legendary pecan pie and represents a shared commitment to the coast that has inspired and sustained generations of Texans. With every purchase, a portion of proceeds will support TPWF’s efforts to conserve the wild things and wild places of the Texas Gulf Coast.
“For 40 years, the Texas Gulf Coast has inspired our menus, our restaurants and our way of life,” said Chef and President Levi Goode, Goode Co. Restaurants. “Partnering with Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation is a meaningful way to celebrate that legacy while helping conserve the natural wonders that make this region so special.”
Since 1991, TPWF has worked alongside the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and other trusted conservation partners to protect Texas’ lands, waters and wildlife. Along the coast, TPWF has fueled projects that restore and protect critical habitat, rebuild oyster reefs, create artificial reefs that enhance marine ecosystems and fishing opportunities, and strengthen the barrier islands and coastal landscapes that support wildlife and coastal communities alike.
Recent investments by TPWF include the historic acquisition of the 17,531-acre Powderhorn Wildlife Management Area and State Park, helping to install the second largest artificial reef in the Texas Gulf, and supporting the permanent protection of more than 12,000 acres of coastal habitat along the Matagorda Peninsula. These efforts help ensure that the Texas Gulf Coast remains healthy, productive and wild for the benefit of future generations.
“For four decades, Goode Company has brought the delicious flavors and traditions of the Gulf Coast to Texas tables,” said TPWF Executive Director Anne Brown. “We’re proud to mark this milestone together, and we invite Texans to join us in supporting the conservation work that will help ensure the long-term resilience of our Texas Coast, wild things and all.”
The limited-edition pie box is available for purchase online and in all Goode Co. Seafood locations.
