Parks & Wildlife Conservation Scholarship

The Parks & Wildlife Conservation Scholarship is managed by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation, the nonprofit partner of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD).  The Parks & Wildlife Conservation Scholarship Program is comprised of three funds: 

  • The Andrew Sansom Expo Scholarship Fund
  • The Arch Hollingsworth Scholarship Fund
  • The Larry McEachron Memorial Scholarship Fund

 Scholarships are offered to current employees, graduating high school students and college students seeking undergraduate or postgraduate degrees related to natural and cultural resource conservation.  Scholarships are also offered to TPWD employees who are seeking certifications, licenses or specialized skills that may qualify them for future job vacancies and enhance opportunities for advancement within career fields at TPWD.

 As part of the review process, additional consideration will be given for any one of the following: 

  • TPWD Employees and their Immediate family
  • Applicants who have served as TPWD interns in the Coastal Fisheries Division
  • Applicants who reside in any of the following Texas counties:

 The Scholarship awarded will be for the academic year following receipt of scholarship.

 APPLICATION INFORMATION

 The application form and all the necessary documentation must be received at the Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation, 1901 N. Akard Street, Dallas, TX 75201 no later than 5:00 p.m. on September 1st (or the next business day if the 1st falls on a weekend) in order to be considered.  Postmarks are not acceptable if the application arrives in our office after the deadline.

Applicants will be notified of their selection status no later than October 1st
